NOTE: This reviewer used Addonics SATA adapter to facilitate booting XP (IDE version picture and visit the website for the SATA version) Dual Slots Cf HDD Adapter. PROS1 + + + + + +. FASTEST CF card on the market from this Zeitpunkt2. TYPE 1, thinnest form factor for easy fit into any camera or CF-PCMCIA adapter with all Adapter3. Lifetime Warranty, Lexar has a reputation for map errors, but its replacement procedure is fairly simple, much easier to have than trying to replace an iPod from Apple werden.4. Pretty good for an 8-GB-karte5. Increase the speed and the authenticity of your notebook for the distribution or technology demonstration since running this CF to SATA comparable to the enterprise server as far as disk I / O CONS – 1 Hard to believe, NEGATIVES, if you think it is a camera Card2. If you run the XP system partition, remember that CF suffers from wear limits, is usually 100,000, writes to “burn out” the flash cells, but is intended to alleviate wear leveling, so that these are distributed also writes about the entire map, this is similar to compare, such as mustard evenly over a sandwich w / o Dissemination poking a hole in the bed .-+-+- Comprehensive comments / statements, I would like -+-+- appeal to those who have confirmed this card for their cameras, and your hopes and assumptions, which is Yes, well, the writing in RAW and JPG want, glorious! This is a Type 1 card is, it is the slimmer form of CF Type II compared with the thicker (Many CF Type II, Microdrive, to support the mechanical parts and to be used for comparative reference). Because it is Type 1, it is virtually guaranteed that physically ready at any CF camera passen.Da this card runs at 45 megabytes per second (300 x 150KBS = 45,000,0000 bytes per second or 45MB) is between an older IDE ATA33MBs or ATA66MBs these plates were cut in 1996 and together in 1998. Combined with a Serial ATA interface that can support up to 100 MB of optimal conditions, and this card can be a performance comparable to a 5,400 RPM hard drive that uses much more power and drains the battery faster liefern.Es reads the data extremely fast and writes are superb. It really stands in the field of electricity, as it extended our battery life by at least 33% under the heaviest CPU and disk load. Turn off using a fundamental review of the leadership of a notebook PC at the highest brightness of LCD and w / o power-saving features such as disk or suspend / hibernate and WiFi increased our battery life by 45% in normal Nutzung.Trotz the lower 45MBs access time, this setup still running faster than our 5400 and 7200-rpm SATA drives, remember that I / O depends on many things, such as simultaneous operations, the types of I / O intensive, such as video and audio such as a game or a database. Hosted for the business use such as editing documents, web browsing and watching downloaded video, this card still exceeds our hard drives. It is unlikely that you will be able to map them to boot your XP system and plays a contemporary video game because 8GB is not large enough to hold them both verwenden.Wenn your system may have multiple hard drives can provide more Load one of those and use XP on RAID arrays, or use the BIOS to create support, whether your hardware, the functionality available. Addonics also makes a CF card PCI 4-RAID controller () on its Web site, but not in a notebook passen.Ihr notebook will run cooler, the fan uses less energy and prolongs the Batterie.XP installation tips: Some of them can also Addonics web site found werden1. Prefetching disable XP, which is a feature of Windows that copies of certain application executable files in the folder C: Windows directory. It helps to load XP, and apparently will run faster, but it seems bogus since XP can download the files just as quickly the original location it installed.. PREFETCH JUST WASTES DISK is also creating UN-NECESSARY TO WRITE TO YOUR CF Karte.Löschen you all the files in the% systemroot% prefetch hidden directory and then modify a registry and select the 0 for the new value one or select one of the anderen.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Session Manager Memory Management PrefetchParameters0: Deaktiviert1: Application Launch Prefetch2: Boat Prefetch3: prefetch alles2. Disable the XP Indexing Service, which also creates un-necessary to read and the life of the CF card shortened. Disable cisvc (Indexing Service). If you insist on indexing, Google Desktop should take place as there are more opportunities that are easier to change so that it can not constantly thrash the partition are also several types of files as XP Indexing Service suchen.3. Turn off all background optimization such as automatic disk defragmentation, spyware, or anti-virus scans, are again un-necessary disk access activities that the life of the CF drive verkürzen.4. Disable pagefile, if your system has at least 1 GB of RAM, you will be less than the need for a swap file if you have 2GB, as you may not be a need at all. Our fitted 2GB and larger systems, use no paging file, no matter what kind of hard because we are never more than 2 GB of activity, and we are not running multi-user disconnects, which really benefit from Windows swap file. Note: This boot is an additional seconds to add, since XP searches for swap file. sys and will respond with a pop-up when logging on to “missing paging file … blah blah blah “5 Use the copy or any other kind of virtual disks to clone application to the existing installation on the CF card to receive these settings and save time by having to reinstall XP just for the CF card. If your system partition exceeds 7. 8 GB uncompressed, we recommend the following steps: A. Create a clone of your existing partition on a second hard drive big enough to kopieren.B your data. Trim down the XP installation, failure to move files like MP3’s Video’s Office / Productivity documents to a data partition separate from where you are installing XP.C. Wipe out un-necessary junk files that Windows is known to leave the wack% systemroot% * KB * Uninstall directories and all service pack archive directories. The * KB * Uninstall files are the older versions of files or replace, which replaces Windows Update, because they are vulnerable to attacks on the security / hacking and kept only in the event that the patches uninstall and again threatened to yours. (ROTFLMAO) directories, which are only by itself, also worth about 250MB Speicherplatz.D. FolderSize installation from SourceForge, you can use it to your folder size in Explorer w / o display, right-click / properties and displays them all and sort them like any other characteristic. Start exploring these directories for hidden junk you do not need is buried Dell blotware and source installers in places like this you do berüchtigt.Wenn limit on the size, then start the uninstall applications that you can keep un-needed or can install a traditional 2nd hard drive. This defeats many of the reasons you chose to start with CF, as the system nor a disk and the power and the load latency erfordert.HINWEIS: If you already have two partitions on your system is used and the others have the house applications, it is recommended that you uninstall the applications that reside on the data partitions, and install them to your% systemdrive%, so you can avoid using a traditional HDD the same Zeit.6. Clone the circumcised then build replicate by using the CF karte7. Extremely important when booting the CF card to ensure the first, IT IS ONLY THE HARD DRIVE IN THE SYSTEM AND THE ORIGINAL SOURCE drives are not available. When the CF card is the source HDD’s, XP can be confused and still draw funds from the other drive letters if you are configured for multiple partitions and have at the least, create / use the swap file on the remaining originals left boot. In some cases, particularly for multi-partitions, you can end up binding to the originals, if you try to boot only the CF It is not the other source drive letter for applications and can end in a loop or logon / logoff loop after successful Authentifizierung.Das scenario is so much time to drain resolve so many problems in the Registry and configuration files that you are better off just gone. I bought this with my new Nikon D700 to use – it is listed in the manual as one of the approved cards. It works fine, high-speed transfer. Indeed, the D700 firmware has been updated to be up to 64 GB CF storage facilities, but that would be overkill for me – this is an 8-GB will store nearly 800 full-resolution full-frame High Qual pictures is a lot. It’s like with 22 rolls 35mm film in my Kamera.64GB would save 6400 images, enough for two years trek in Antarctica. Three cheers for digital photography! Rating: 5 / 5

The Lexar Professional UDMA 300x CompactFlash card is listed one of the cards in the D700 manual as an approved card. I tend to stick with the approved maps and my choice is an 8-GB card. I have also tested leads continuous shooting speed on the D700 and the card as expected. I tend to choose between SanDisk and Lexar, but since the Lexar cards from Amazon actually sold by Amazon, I decided to go with the Lexar. You really can not go wrong with either brand.
